Why Contribute to SevGen?

At SevGen we support a number of community projects to help people reach their full potential. We celebrate the individual journey, within a social context, and always for the benefit of the collective. Below are the projects we are currently supporting. We would love you to take a moment to review these and consider how you might be able to support them. Support does not always have come in the monetary sense, it could be offering your skills and knowledge, or circles of influence to help these projects be successful.

Current SevGen Projects You Can Support

Please reference your specific donations:

1. SevGen’s Soulful Work
Reference No: CP000OC

[paypal-donation]

SevGen is a visionary concept that will result in social innovation. Our 3E model is one that works hard for our own social enterprises to fund us. As you might know it takes time to get these ventures in the black so we also need help from our friends/supporters/donors.

By donating to CP000OC  you are helping us to keep doing what must be done to make a difference to the outcomes for our nations first peoples and ultimately for all the world. Please donate if you can and remember that all donations over $2 is tax deductible.

2. Modern Songlines
Reference No: CP001MS

[paypal-donation]

In 2014 it was brought to our attention that governmental decisions to close secondary schools in remote Northern Territory communities created a dire need for a creative solution. After intimate joining with elders and community leaders in the communities the Modern Songlines project was ideated and we committed to piloting a community led initiative that was co-founded and developed by Warlpiri leaders and SevGen.

After our 18months pilot period and 10 little mobs later it is being spoken of as Justice, Heatlh and Education Reinvestment.

The Modern Songlines project has a deep message of human permaculture and is the most meaningful project eva. Funds raised will contribute to connecting all to the dreamtime. Please get in touch to know it deeply.

Go to the Modern Songlines Gallery to see our photo album and to read the latest updates.

 3. Our Kanyini
Reference No: CP010OK

[paypal-donation]

Kanyini is a Yankunytjatjara (Central Desert) concept of unconditional love, popularised in a 2006 documentary Kanyini.by Kuminjai Uncle Bob Randall a much loved and missed elder, singer and community leader

SevGen references this theory of connectedness, caring and responsibility with the blessing of his widowed wife, Aunty Barb who said “He wanted people to use the word widely. It’s a beautiful word to use and apply”.

Our Kanyini’s goal of giving those who are the most vulnerable and sometimes fragile, a safe space to transition to life outside of gaol is a timely one, with the 2017 Closing the Gap report highlighting the over-representation of indigenous people in the criminal justice system.

Since SevGen has been present at the Eumundi markets a wonderful working relationship with Private owner Grant and Eumundi Pavillion market manager Lee has developed and together we have seen the vision of the First Indigenous Market on the Sunshine Coast. Workplace Giving Programs

Workplace giving is a simple and effective way for employees to regularly donate to charities or organisations that are entitled to receive tax deductible donations, such as SevGen. It is another way for employees to support charities. To participate in a workplace giving program, the charity or organisation you wish to donate to, must have deductible gift recipient (DGR) status, which we do!

Workplace giving is optional. Both the employee and the employer must agree to participate.

To elect to make us your place to give, contact us!

Donate your time or skills as a volunteer

As we’ve mentioned, donation does not have to come in the form of money (though money does help!) Below are some of the types of skills we are currently in need of. If you can help, please fill in the form below and we’ll be forever grateful for your assistance!

GRANTS AND FUND WRITING
There are many funding opportunities that we qualify for. We are missing opportunities because this is a time consuming skill that needs to be presented in a particular way. If you have experience or an interest in writing grant or funding submissions there is always a need for assistance here. If you can help please email: terri@sevgen.com.au.

FILMING CREW
Ongoing (filled by John. If you would like to get experience in Photographic documentary work or film please join John’s team). We think that we have a story worth following and are seeking people who are interested in documentary work. There is a dreaming story being written and we would like to capture it in film also. So if you know any keen film making people please tell them about this project. For more detailed information email: terri@sevgen.com.au

MONITORING/DOCUMENTING OUR PRINCIPLES AND APPROACH
Hailed as an innovative and positive social impact initiative we believe that SevGen is a very strong candidate for a research project. If you are interested thinking about enrolling in your masters or perhaps even a PHD, SevGen demonstrate consilient futures thinking and would be a wonderful opportunity for an action research project. For more detailed information email: terri@sevgen.com.au.

IMPACT EVALUATION
If your passion is social impact evaluation from both a quantative and qualitative lens this is your patch. For more detailed information email: anna4connections@sevgen.com.au
